Insanity - Part 1

Come On Y'all....Lets Go!

My experience with Shaun T and the Insanity workout.

A few things to say about Insanity to start.

If you stick to the 60 Day schedule and really push yourself, I have no doubt you see some really good results.

Myself, I did under 5 weeks of the 60 day schedule.
The first 4 weeks of the workouts and 5 days of the recovery week.

 The Workouts.

The first 4 weeks are really good for getting a sweat on and if you really push yourself you should see results before the recovery week.

The workouts in question:-
  • Fit Test
  • Plyometric Cardio Circuit
  • Cardio Power and Resistance
  • Cardio Recovery
  • Pure Cardio + Cardio Abs
Now why did I only do the first 5 weeks??

My problem was the fact that I became slightly bored, not of working out but of the workouts  above.

In the first 28 days there are just 6 different types of workout, one of which you only do twice; The Fit Test and another just three times; Cardio Abs.

The 2 Fit Tests are good to keep track of the progress you have made over the first 2 weeks and Cardio Abs adds something different to Pure Cardio.

My issue was with the 'Main' workouts, the core part of the workout is very good but the warm up is very repetitive, too long and slow to get going.

A different warm up for each of the main workouts would have added something different to doing this day in day out.

This does not change into the Recovery week, where you do the same workout for 6 Days straight!

Keep a look out for Part 2 on Insanity where I will look at the workouts in more depth.
