Green Shakes and Smoothies...
Now myself personally I love a shake or a smoothie, a great way to get some goodness into your diet with absolute ease.All you need is some good ingredients and a blender which you can pic up for around £20-50.
Today I will cover 'Green' Smoothies..
Incorporating Green Smoothies in your diet is an easy, delicious way to boost up your health and a great way to stay fueled through out the day. Green smoothies are known to resolve a lot of digestive problems and are high in fiber. And with a proper diet, can help you stay lean.
Green Smoothies are generally a mix of 60% ripe fruit and 40% organic greens e.g. Spinach.
Below is a couple of great recipes to get you started;
Green Monster Smoothie
Makes 2-3 servingsIngredients:
- 1 banana (frozen or not), cut into chunks
- 1 cup chopped frozen pineapple
- 1 pear, coarsely chopped
- 1 cup orange juice
- 3 cups baby spinach leaves, rinsed and dried
- 1 tbsp. honey
- 3 tbsp. ground flaxseed (optional)
Directions:
- Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor and puree until completely smooth. If smoothie is too thick, thin it out with a little more orange juice.
- Taste and adjust sweetness with additional honey, if desired. Serve immediately.
Apple Green Smoothie
This smoothie is simple, but delicious. It is a beautiful bright green color and tastes like apples.- 1 banana
- 1 organic apple, cored
- 2 cups fresh organic spinach
- 2 tsp flaxseed
- 1 1/2 cups crushed ice

Oh yes!! 100%!! A green smoothie will give you everything you need nutritionally to keep you going throughout the day, keeping you awake and energetic!!
